This page says what happens to the information you give us through this website. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Who we are

D.A.C Mining Services Pty Ltd, ABN 67 111 324 371, of Mackay, Queensland. We hold Queensland Labour Hire Licence LHL-00886-W8N4K. You can reach us on (07) 4863 4760 or at office@dacmining.com.au.

What we collect

Only what you type into a form on this site, and only the forms we actually run.

  • The contact form. Your name, company, phone, email, the site you are asking about, what you need and your message.
  • The job application form. Your name, phone, email, where you are based, your right to work in Australia, the position you are after, your experience and availability, the tickets and licences you hold, your resume and anything else you write in the message field.

Every photograph and every graphic on this site is served from our own site. Two things are loaded from elsewhere: the typeface, which comes from Google Fonts, and the Meta pixel, which is described below.

The Meta pixel

We advertise our vacancies on Facebook and Instagram, and this site carries the Meta pixel so we can tell whether those advertisements are reaching people who are actually looking for work. It is the only tracker on the site. There is no Google Analytics, no tag manager and no advertising network other than Meta.

What it records is which pages of this site were viewed and whether a form was submitted, along with the technical details a browser sends anyway, such as your IP address and the kind of device you are on. It sets cookies to do that. We use it to measure advertisements and to show them to people like the ones already reading these pages.

When you submit a form, our own server also tells Meta that a form was submitted, so the count is not lost when a browser blocks the pixel. That message carries your email address, phone number, first and last name and town, each scrambled with a one-way hash before it leaves us. Meta uses the scrambled values only to match the submission to an advertisement it showed you, and cannot read them back. We never send Meta the contents of a form. Your resume, your tickets, what you write in the message field and everything else go to our office inbox and nowhere else.

If you would rather the pixel did not run in your browser, any of these stops it: turn on your browser’s tracking protection, use a content blocker, or change your advertising settings in your Facebook or Instagram account. Blocking it does not affect the site. The forms work exactly the same either way, and nothing you send us is lost. If you do not want the server-side message sent either, say so in the message field of the form and we will delete it from our advertising data.

Why we collect it

For one reason each. Contact enquiries so we can answer them and quote the work. Job applications so we can assess you for a role now, and for roles that come up later.

Sensitive information

A resume sometimes carries more than you meant to send: date of birth, health details, a medical certificate, a licence number. We do not ask for any of that, we do not need it to assess an application, and we would rather you left it out. Anything of that kind that reaches us is treated as sensitive information and kept accordingly.

Where it goes

Form submissions are delivered to our office inbox by an email delivery provider, Resend, and are stored in our own recruitment and job management systems. Nothing is sold, rented or handed to anyone for marketing. We share details with a client operation only where it is necessary to place you or to answer their enquiry, and for an application that means with your knowledge.

Our website is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, it keeps short-lived technical logs of requests, including IP addresses, for security and reliability. We do not use those logs to build a profile of you.

How long we keep it

Applications are held for two years so we can come back to you when something suitable opens, then removed unless you have become an employee or contractor of ours. Enquiries are held for as long as we need them for the job and our records. Ask us to remove your details sooner and we will.

Keeping it safe

Access is limited to the people in the office who need it. The site is served over HTTPS and form submissions travel encrypted. No system is perfect, and we will tell you promptly if something happens that puts your information at risk.

Your say over it

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email office@dacmining.com.au or ring (07) 4863 4760 and we will deal with it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

If we get it wrong

Tell us first, on the details above, and we will try to sort it out. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy complaint, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
