Tool Store Person

A mining maintenance workshop runs on whether the right tool is where it is supposed to be.

Want to be home on weekends? This is for you. Monday to Friday, or a nine-day fortnight if that suits you better.

What the job is

• Run the tool store day to day. Issue and return of tooling, and the records that go with it.
• Stock control that is accurate rather than nearly accurate.
• Keep the workshop in the gear it needs before anyone has to come looking for it.
• Cover the warehouse when it is needed, including receipting and picking parts.

The fitters you hand gear to are working a long day on a hot machine. Whether a tool is where it should be decides how that day goes, and they are counting on you.

What you need

• Organised. That is the actual job. Everything else on this list is easier to teach.
• Good on a computer, and steady with records and paperwork.
• Mechanical knowledge or a trade background. Preferred, not required.
• SAP experience. Highly desirable, and it is worth money on the offer.
• Able to obtain a site licence. If you do not have one yet, we arrange everything.

The pay

From $130,000 plus superannuation. That is where it starts, not where it stops. Come in with more than the job needs, SAP behind you, a trade, years of running a store properly, and you will be paid more.

Straight up

It is a mine site. It is hot, it is dusty, and the crews want their gear now rather than after lunch. We are not going to sell it as anything else. What we will tell you is that it finishes on Friday, you are home for the weekend, and you are treated fairly.
