Boilermaker

Structural repair on mining plant is its own trade inside a trade. The welding is the easy half. Working out how to hold the thing while you do it is the other half.

What the work is

• Structural repair and wear plate on buckets, trays, bodies and blades.
• Crack repair on booms, sticks, frames and chassis, in the field and in the workshop.
• Fabrication to a drawing, and fabrication where there is no drawing.
• Chutes, screens and materials handling structures on the plant.
• Shutdown windows, where most of a year's fabrication gets done in a fortnight.

What you need

• Trade qualification, with mining equipment behind you.
• Boom welding is an advantage, not a requirement.
• Confident on a grinder and a gouge, not just a wire feeder.
• Standard 11 and a coal board medical. If you do not hold them, we arrange everything.
• An open driver licence.
