HV Electrician

High voltage is the part of a mine where being nearly right is not a category. It is also where the standard we ask for stops being a slogan and starts being the reason everybody goes home.

What the work is

• Switching, isolation and testing to the site's own procedure, every time, no shortcuts.
• Maintenance on switchgear, substations, trailing cables and reticulation.
• Draglines, shovels, drills and the plant, depending on the site.
• Fault finding and restoration, including the calls nobody wants at two in the morning.
• Shutdown and outage work where the electrical scope sets the critical path.

What you need

• Trade qualification with a current electrical licence.
• HV switching and access, and experience across mining equipment.
• Mining plant experience favoured. More than one roster is available.
• Standard 11 and a coal board medical. If you do not hold them, we arrange everything.
• An open driver licence.
