Trades Assistant

Most of the crew came in through a door like this one. What gets you hired here is turning up, doing what you said you would do, and being worth teaching.

What the work is

• On the tools with a tradesperson, doing the parts of the job you can do and watching the parts you cannot yet.
• Housekeeping, tooling, consumables and keeping a job front workable.
• Slinging, lifting and machine access work once you are ticketed for it.
• Component strip and clean in the workshop.
• Shutdown support, which is where most people learn the fastest.

What you need

• Nothing on paper. That is the point of this one.
• You turn up, and you turn up on time, every day, including the ones you did not sleep well before.
• You say when you do not know something rather than guessing on somebody else's machine.
• Standard 11 and a coal board medical. If you do not hold them, we arrange everything.
• An open driver licence, or a plan to get one.
